Art & Design

Digital Imaging and Photoshop
These workshops give students the chance to experiment with digital imaging. By getting to grips with digital photography, scanning and the basics of Photoshop, students will be encouraged to use their creativity to produce digital images that can either be developed around a given theme / topic / curricular area or can come from each young person's individual imagination.

Advanced Photoshop
Training can be offered to pupils who have an introductory level of Photoshop skills, especially in the use of layers and basic tools. The training focuses on many elements of Photoshop including the advanced use of layers and photoshop tools, creating complex images, advanced export options and preparing images for print. The course will build on pupils' existing knowledge and develop their skills to a more expert level. This will enable pupils to use Photoshop not only within Art & Design but across the curriculum. Training can focus on specific projects for the classroom, e.g. product design or focusing on art history, e.g. Art Deco.

2D & Drawn Animation
We can offer a range of 2D animation workshops incorporating stop-frame animation using paper-cut out technique or drawn animation using 2D animation software and graphics tablets. Animation can give young people an exciting opportunity to bring their imaginations to life using a variety of creative materials and processes. From the seed of an original idea through to its storyboarding, characterisation and realisation, workshops can be tailored flexibly to meet the needs and interests of the different young people taking part. Types of animation can include pixilation, clay animation, cell and computer animation.
