Exploring Identity
The Nerve Centre offers schools a challenging programme of cultural diversity learning relevant to EMU and citizenship. This programme encompasses multimedia presentations, hands-on workshops adn the use of unique ICT learning resources reflecting culture and identity in Northern Ireland today.
Multimedia Presentations an overview of major cultural diversity themes and issues to stimulate thinking and promote understanding.
Creative Workshops a selection of hands-on sessions exploring cultural diversity issues through digital video making, animation & multimedia.
Interactive Learning Resources a series of CD-Roms, DVDs and animated films exploring key cultural symbols adn icons including the Battle fo the Somme, the Easter Rising, the Battle of the Boyne, the 1798 Rebellion, Cu Chulainn, the Hound of Ulster, King William of Orange, Wolfe Tone, Edward Carson and Patrick Pearse. The Nerve Centre can offer this programme both in house and on an outreach basis across all five Education and Library boards.
