UICT Tasks:
Full task outlines can be found on CCEA's ICT Accreditation Scheme website

An Animated Alphabet
Using ICT (UICT) Levels: 1 & 2
Desirable Features: Animation
In this task pupils will create an animated alphabet. Using the A-Z of Creativity website as a starting point, pupils will explore different art forms and ways of representing the letters of the alphabet using animation. Working in small groups, they will plan and shoot their animation and sequence it to create a final short animated film.

Creative Classes
Using ICT (UICT) Levels: 2 & 3
Desirable Features: Desk Top Publishing, Researching
Pupils will use the A-Z of Creativity CD ROM* and the Internet to research different art forms. They will discuss the art forms they enjoy and/or take part in. They can either use a bank of images or take photos of their own to import into Comic Life to create a poster about their chosen art form.

Let's Create
Using ICT (UICT) Levels: 2 & 3
Desirable Features: Moving Images, Researching
Pupils will use the A-Z of Creativity CD ROM* and the Internet to research different art forms. Pupils will create a movie about how to create a piece of artwork. With the teacher's guidance they will create their artwork step by step, taking digital photos of each step as they go. These photos will then be sequenced in PhotoStory3 and the pupils will record a simple narration explaining how they made their artwork.

Moving Places
Using ICT (UICT) Levels: 2 & 3
Desirable Features: Animation
Through Art & Design and Drama, pupils will explore aspects of an environment (i.e. Under the Sea/The Jungle/The Beach etc). They will plan a story using this environment as the location and create a set/backdrop and models for an animation. They can use digital stills cameras or webcams to take photographs of the models and set and will then import them and edit the animation in Movie Maker or other appropriate editing software. They may also add music and simple sound effects to their movie. Note: This task can also be linked to the task “Sounds Around”.

Sounds Around
